about

This track was recorded live at Go! Studios (Carrboro, NC) on 10 October 2001 by Chris Stamey and Tim Harper. It was mixed and mastered by Chris Stamey at Modern Recording. The piece was a 56-minute continuous performance constructed and conducted by Frank Gratkowski in collaboration with Micro-East Collective. Some elements are composed by Frank Gratkowski, while some portions follow rule sets proposed or improvised by "cells" within the larger ensemble. There were three "cells" arranged to the left, center and right of the stage, all of which joined together during full ensemble sections.
